Bedfordshire fail to comply with pre-ation protocols for Judicial Review

After going some way to conceded to a Judicial Review, and no doubt because of the public interest of this review by way of this article, Bedfordshire police has written a further letter trying to change the goalposts.

Dear Mr Ponting,

We write in response to your email of 30 June 2023 (14.04).

For the avoidance of doubt, we are conducting this review in compliance with the pre-action protocol, in the hope of settling the dispute without the need for proceedings and to avoid unnecessary expense.

We make it clear that by doing so we make no concessions whatsoever as to legality of the original decision.

Furthermore, we wish to make it clear that we do not accept the remedies proposed in paragraph 46 of your document.

In line with the VRR timetable, we aim to communicate the results of our review to you within 30 days.

Yours faithfully

Legal Services Department

As you will see, Bedfordshire police legal services are abusing their position by confirming they are complying with the pre-action protocol (for Judicial Review),  yet, avoiding the 14 day
