The Chief Constable of Cheshire Police is being investigated following an allegation about his conduct.
Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane has ordered an independent inquiry into the claim surrounding Simon Byrne which will be carried out by another force.
In a statement, Mr Keane said: “I can confirm that I have received an allegation against the Chief Constable, Simon Byrne.
“In the interest of openness and transparency, I referred this immediately to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) who have now passed this case back to me for a local investigation.

“This investigation will be conducted independently of Cheshire Constabulary in accordance with the statutory police complaints process.”
Chief Constable Simon Byrne said: “I am aware that an allegation about my conduct is being investigated by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, in accordance with normal policy and procedure.
“I do not know the detail of the allegation so am unable to make any further comment at the moment. In the meantime, I remain focused on my work in keeping Cheshire safe and fulfilling my national responsibilities.”
He’s apparently got another conduct complaint on the way as well for acting unlawfully in pushing a former officer out of the door who reported people for racism within the force and misconduct, arresting a colleagues child, who was well known on multiple occasions to the force and as a result suffered a vexatious complaint, which wasn’t handled lawfully by the Constabulary and shoved out of the back door. I understand the officer is taking the force for a judicial review.
Disgusting what goes on behind closed doors! Byrne was even approached by the officer to have a meeting, which he cowardly refused, not much of a leader at all really! So much for accountability and transparency.
Cheshire is a force where your face fits basically, racist and corrupt to the core.
As for the Freemason comment, Simon hasn’t shaken my hand yet 😉 looking forward to the day he does.
