A Coventry police officer has appeared in court charged with rape and other sexual offences.

Marc Forth, who has been suspended by West Midlands Police while the criminal proceedings are ongoing, was in the dock at Warwick Crown Court on Friday (September 25).

He denied offences of rape, intentionally touching a girl under the age of 13 in a sexual manner and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.

The alleged sexual offences all happened in Nuneaton.

The 41-year-old has also been charged with two counts of misconduct by engaging in a sexual relationship with a member of the public which was an abuse of the public’s trust – one of who was a victim of crime.

He has also pleaded not guilty to these offences.

Forth, from Nuneaton, will next appear at Warwick Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing in July next year, with a trial date set for August 2021.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “The defendant is a West Midlands Police officer but is currently suspended from his role as a response officer in Coventry pending the outcome of the criminal trial.”
