Parents advise their children to always call the police if they need help… remember, police officers are just people. Police officers are strangers, they may have powers of arrest, it does not mean you should ever trust them simply because the ‘get a job as a cop’?
Take for example former police officer Derek Kennedy. He admitted hoarding depraved videos and images of children on multiple devices between August 2016 and July last year.
The 34-year-old paedophile was placed on the sex offender’s register after sentence was deferred at Dundee Sheriff Court for social work reports to be obtained.
Kennedy previously served as a police officer before quitting the force on medical grounds.
It was revealed that police searched Derek Kennedy’s house and seized a mobile phone which contained a haul of sickening vile images and videos of children.
Further discoveries were made on two laptops with Kennedy telling police that he did not know why he had them.
