Former police officer facing misconduct allegations to discover later this year if she will face trial

A FORMER police officer facing misconduct allegations is to discover later this year if she is to go on trial.

The case against Lesley Stock has been listed for a preliminary inquiry at Belfast Magistrates Court in December.

Stock, whose address is given as Tennent Street PSNI station in the city, is charged with misconduct in a public office.

It is alleged that between March 2014 and July 2015, as a police officer, her actions amounted to an abuse of the trust of the public.

The charge relates to involvement with an individual who was the subject of a criminal prosecution.

In court today lawyers reached agreement on holding a preliminary investigation into the strength of the case.

District Judge Mark McGarrity was told the hearing, where witnesses may be called to give evidence, could last for up to three hours.

Mr McGarrity confirmed those proceedings will take place on December 10.
