Police and crime commissioners are fundamentally there to overlook the police force and hold the chief constable to account.
The current PCC of Lancashire, Clive Grunshaw lied live of BBC Lancashire radio, protecting the Chief Constable from serious allegations including perjury and effecting a judge who is a police defence barrister to preside over a civil case to ensure the police win.
The current PCC simply dropped the serious allegations without any investigation. This has been appealed to the IOPC and we are awaiting a decision.
Do Lancashire a favour, choose a new PCC, get rid of Clive Grunshaw. Forget the ‘party’, choose the person.
