Met Police officer PC Dean Cupit sacked after being convicted of stalking

A serving Metropolitan Police constable has been sacked for stalking.

PC Dean Cupit, formerly based at South Area Command, pleaded guilty to a harassment offence committed between April and October last year at Guildford Crown Court on December 8.

He was handed an 18-month community order at the same court on February 9.

Cupit was also ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation around stalking/harassment, undertake 100 hours of unpaid work and made to pay £500 court costs along with a £95 victim surcharge.

He was placed on restricted duties last month pending the outcome of disciplinary proceedings. A special case hearing took place on Wednesday chaired by Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball.

The allegation was found proved and Cupit was dismissed without notice.
