PC Andrew Ross of Wiltshire police sacked after picking up and kissing woman he met on ‘chat app’ on duty

PC Andrew Ross pleaded guilty to both accounts he was accused of.

A police officer has been sacked for gross misconduct after misusing a police vehicle while on duty to pick up a woman and then kiss and hug her at an isolated location.

A misconduct hearing heard yesterday (August 24) two allegations of gross misconduct against Wiltshire PC, Andrew Ross.

PC Ross was accused of two accounts of misusing a police vehicle in relation to the carriage of passengers while he was on duty.

The two incidents happened in June and August 2019, when the officer picked up the same woman, who he had originally contacted through a ‘chat app’, in a marked police car and then drove to an isolated location where they chatted, kissed and hugged.

He was on duty at the time.
