An officer has been dismissed following the outcome of a virtual misconduct hearing which concluded on Tuesday, 12 January.
The panel, led by an independent legally qualified chair, found two allegations of discreditable conduct proven against PC Gajan Sittampalam, who was based at South Area Command Unit.
The allegations concerned the officer’s behaviour in Spring 2018 involving a female member of the public that he was in a relationship with.
One allegation proven at the level of misconduct involved excessive communications and the other allegation at the level of gross misconduct involved a breach of bail conditions.
PC Sittampalam was dismissed without notice.
