A serving British Transport Police (BTP) senior officer has received a final written warning, following a misconduct hearing held between 19 and 21 April.
The officer attended the hearing, held at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Camden, where he answered two allegations that he had breached the standards of professional behaviour.
These were:
- Between January 2018 and March 2018, the BTP officer was engaged in an ongoing sexual relationship with a female member of BTP and had consensual sexual intercourse with her on police premises in breach of the standards of professional behaviour.
- Between 2008 and 2009 the BTP officer was engaged in an ongoing sexual relationship with a female member of BTP and had consensual sexual intercourse with her on police premises in breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour.
The police premises were not police stations.
The independent panel found the officer had a case proven for both allegations at the level of Gross Misconduct.
He subsequently received a final written warning to be held on his personnel file for a period of 18 months.
