Serving officer PC Laura Thorogood dismissed without notice

MET Police

PC Laura Thorogood answered allegations that her conduct breached the standards of professional behaviour in relation to honesty and integrity, discreditable conduct and challenging and reporting improper conduct.

It was alleged that during an interview with the Met’s Department of Professional Standards, PC Thorogood – who was then based on the South East Area Basic Command Unit – said that another officer had been dishonest in relation to an application for a search warrant. This was later found to be untrue.

On Thursday, 27 August the panel found the allegations in relation to honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct proven and that this amounted to gross misconduct. She was consequently dismissed without notice.

The allegation of challenging and reporting improper conduct was found not proven.
