My name is Bart and I am a student at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) in Swansea, I would like to invite you to take part in my research project by completing a questionnaire on the public views of stop and search.
There is an evident need for social research due to the inconsistent frequency of academic studies on this topic, the last major contributions were made in 2013.
This study aims to address the social aspect and its inconsistency by gathering the public’s views on stop and search.
Given the changing nature of society, such research will establish if the public supports stop and search in present time.
Furthermore, public opinions will be gathered on stereotyping, the absence of defined objective factors on which to base a search on and the issues concerning stop and search on ethnic minorities.
